In a powerful display of pride, tradition, and unity, Zanzibar Café in Charlotte, NC has launched an entire month of programming dedicated to celebrating Liberian Independence through Culture & History. From thought-provoking conversations to lively social events, this July has become a true tribute to the Liberian spirit.
Located at 3720 N Tryon St #101, the venue has become a cultural hub where Liberians across generations come together to honor their heritage, connect, and celebrate with purpose.
Event Highlights:
- July 1: Fireside Chat with Counselor James Verdier – An insightful kickoff to the month, exploring Liberia’s rich past and future.
- July 3: Liberian Movie Night (Adults) – Screening of “Evil Lives Here,” starting at 7 PM.
- July 4: Premiere of Social Friday – A lively night of music and connection from 9 PM–2 AM.
- July 11: Social Friday Continues – Building momentum and community.
- July 16: Youth Event Day – Paint & sip, movies, games, and more from 9 AM–2 PM. A safe, creative space for the next generation.
- July 18: Social Friday – Lib Edition – Dance, network, and unwind.
- July 19: Liberian Game Day – A full day of friendly competition and family fun.
- July 23: Independence Business Mixer – From 6 PM–9 PM, entrepreneurs and professionals connect and share opportunities.
- July 25: Social Friday – Special Lib Edition
- July 26: Independence Mixer – A night of celebration in true Liberian fashion.
- July 27: Liberian Independence Brunch – Closing the month with culture, music, and togetherness from 1 PM–7 PM.
Each event is rooted in culture, connection, and community building, and is open to all who wish to engage in this vibrant celebration.
