July 4, 2025, Independence Day message from The President of LIBAC

By: Ricks Mensah

On this 4th of July, as America celebrates its Independence Day, the Liberian Community Association Of Greater Charlotte, North Carolina, extends heartfelt thanks to the United States for the opportunity to resettle members of our community and enable them to contribute to the development of this nation that has long stood for liberty and justice.

The historical bond between Liberia and the United States is deep and enduring. Liberia was founded in the early 19th century by formerly enslaved African Americans seeking freedom and a new beginning. Today, many Liberians have found similar hope and refuge in the U.S., especially during times of conflict and hardship. We are deeply grateful for the chance to call America home. This country has given us safety, opportunity, and the freedom to pursue a better life for our families.โ€ The Liberian community offers prayers for Americaโ€™s continued strength, safety, unity, and prosperity.

As we celebrate together, we honor both our heritage and the values that unite us as residents of this great nation.

God Bless America.

Ricks Mensah,

President of LIBAC
